My, How Time Flies!!!
It seems like just yesterday when I was blogging all the time. Then I turn around and it has been a year since I typed anything on here. So here is an update on our kiddos...
Garret - turned 15 1/2 last month and is driving everywhere. He freshman year of high school is coming to an end. He has loved every minute of being on the high school golf team. He earned medals at the golf tournaments. I think he would love to become a professional golfer some day, but as a backup plans he is considering becoming an anesthesiologist... He will be transferring to a different high school starting his sophmore year and plans to be on their golf team also :0) I think the biggest accomplishment that he has done this year is to complete his Eagle progject for Scouting. He will be receiving his Eagle award next month. I think this is quite a feat considering that Garret has post-concussion migraines and when he gets a migraine he looses his vision. We have been to neuro-opthomologist and our next step over the summer will be migraine specialist... Garret has sprouted up and is over 5'6" now and actually got asked to the senior prom. The girl was so upset when she found out he was a freshman and not allowed to go to prom :0) but I know the dating scene will be starting soon and we will have our hands full keeping the girls away...LOL
Kerri - turned 18 this year and is graduating in 2 weeks... I can't believe it!!! She is working at a Tropical Shaved Ice for the summer and LOVES it!!! She has a summer job all through college :0) assuming she comes home for the summers...LOL Kerri was accepted to all 4 colleges she applied for and chose OSU to attend to get a degree in Bio-Organic Chemistry. She plans on becoming a pediatric thoracic surgeon in 17 years... Most of you know that Kerri has Victor Hearman (what she called her first hearing air), well this year she acquired Mary Lou. She now has double hearing aids. But doc assures us she is doing well and does not need a kockler implant at this time (maybe in years to come). Most people do not even know she wears hearing aids! What a blessing she is to our family! She is a fabulous cook and I think we may starve when she moves to Stillwater :@). She still babysits sometimes and loves the kids she has gotten close to over the last 4 years... She has several very close friends and 3 of them will be her roommates at OSU this fall. Kerri will also be graduation from Seminary on the 15th and will be moving from Young Women's to the University Ward on May 20th... Sniff, Sniff... She has matured into a beautiful young lady and we are excited for this next chapter of her life to begin.
Ashley - is 21... MY DO I FEEL OLD! Ashley had a wonderful year and yet it was a year filled with a lot of changes... Ash was in Idaho for the first two years of college. Last summer she found out that she was accepted to the Oklahoma teaching program here in Edmond. So she called us up last August and told
us she was moving home. I, of couse, was overjoyed... I was truly missing her. She came home and started student teaching along with taking classes for her Junior year of college at UCO. She just completed the year and will be a Senior in the fall. The program lets her agree to teach at an under-privilaged or rural school and they pay off so much of her student loan each year she works there. She will be a great History and German teacher. Ashley recently got a job at a private day care center. They like her so much there that they just offered her full time (she would have to take online classes) but turned down the offer as she will have to continue her student teaching this year. She stays on the go most of the time and will be visiting family and friends for most of the summer. I'm sure going to miss her :)
As for Dan and I... Well, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this past October. We took the kids with us along with my Twin and her family and went on a cruise. Oh I wish we were going again this summer :0) I will have to post pictures now that I am blogging again :0)
I have been dealing with my mom having cancer this past year and also now my younger sister has cancer. I will post more on a different post about that... and Dan has been adjusting to his new job. So many changes and yet as I reflect, I don't think I would have changed a thing :0)
We are loving life and each other and are so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father that watches over our family each day!

Dan's new job ot Oklahoma Tank Lines
Last weekend was the yearly get together of employees at OTL-UPT.
The Schedule...
Thursday night - a reception that Dan attended while I went to Garret's Court of Honor..
Friday all day - Breakfast first then meetings for the guys and spa day for the wives. We received chair massages and Brighton Braclets... Then, lunch with the guys. After that, more meetings for the guys and us wives had a culinary class on how to cook Sushi. We received the mat and spoon you make Sushi on as a gift. Following that we had dinner at Owen Stadium. It was Delish. We also had a private tour of the OU locker room and the Switzer Center.
Saturday all day - The morning was spent at the Casino, which Dan and I opted out of. Dan worked on my car and was able to get it running (no thanks to wal-mart). It was the battery after all! We then dressed up and went to "The Banquet". They took professional pictures so when I get one, I will add it to this post.
We had a blast and I am grateful for the family atmosphere and welcome we received from everyone :)

Traditions
We had a wonderful Christmas at my Twin's house! Beautiful tree :) |
Ashley was so excieted to be up at the break of dawn... |
Who would have thought that a pillow pet would make Kerri so happy? Must have been that it was PURPLE!!! |
My Sister was SOOOO excited at her present from my brother-in-law! A phone she can text on... (with me of course!!!) |
James in his "funny gift" from us... CLOWN SUN GLASSES. He refuses to wear sunglasses so I thought maybe he would wear these for our cruise in August...We shall see...lol |
Garret sporting his new swim shirt for the cruise... Opening his "funny gift" .... A toy medical kit...hahaha... |
Ashley flew home from Idaho for Christmas. She was so excited for her "funny gift". Believe it or not...She actually is using them! |
We went to my mom's for Christmas Day and she dressed up for us!!! CUTE |
A great time was had by all!!! |
One of the favorite traditions we do as a family is have the last gift opened by everyone be a "funny gift". I love this tradition. We can buy or make things, but it is so much fun being creative! We never spend much on these gifts and they turn out to be the gifts everyone remembers from year to year! Hope you all had a wonderful holdiday!!!
